Your Authority In Christ

Go Further in Your Authority in Christ

The Lord has instructed me to teach on your authority in Christ. Many of you are already ahead of the average churchgoer because you’ve chosen to be in a church that exercises its authority. But that doesn’t mean you’ve arrived; there’s more for you. You must press in further and go deeper.

There’s a boldness required in this generation, but it doesn’t just show up. Most of the world is going to pull you away from your authority, not toward it. That’s why we prioritize gatherings like this one, not just when it’s convenient, but because we refuse to live lukewarm lives that Jesus spits out of His mouth.

“But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” (Revelation 3:16 NLT)

Shake Off the Gravity of Darkness

There’s a pull—like gravity that wants to keep you bound to your past, to blame, to complaining, to false humility, or even depression. All of us have felt it at some point. But God is looking for people who will rise above that. He wants His glory to flow through those who stand in their authority.

His glory is all His goodness made manifest. It brings miracles. It forms a shield of protection. It delivers wisdom, understanding, and divine direction for every situation. It eliminates fear by filling you with His love.

How Do We Prepare for Glory?

It’s not complicated. We baptize ourselves in Christ, not water baptism, but full immersion into our identity in Him. That means we stop identifying with our past and start identifying with His past. When I look back, I see Jesus’ perfect life, not my mistakes.

My past died with Christ. I died with Christ. Now it’s no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20 NLT)

I’m not giving you a polished version of Kade—I’m giving you Christ in me, the hope of glory. What you see in me is available to you too.

“Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.” (Colossians 1:27 NLT)

The Power of the Church

You don’t have to earn this authority over years and years. Jesus gave the church gifts—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—for your benefit.

“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11–12 NLT)

These gifts are a divine shortcut. You get to walk into things that took me years to learn just by being here with a listening ear and a willing heart.

“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:13 NLT)

If you isolate from these gifts, you stay immature and get tossed around by every new teaching.

“Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.” (Ephesians 4:14 NLT)

You may know someone like that someone who walked away from the church and started drifting. That’s why the church is necessary. If you want to mature, you need to be plugged in.

Finding Your Fit in the Body

Don’t just slide in and out of church. Ask, “Where do I fit?” God makes the whole body fit together perfectly, and if you’re not contributing your part, you’re missing out and so is the rest of us.

“He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” (Ephesians 4:16 NLT)

Come to church expecting to mature. Come to step further into your knowledge of Christ.

The role of the elders and leaders here is to lift you into your identity in Christ. We're not here for you to admire our boldness—we’re here to help you walk in the same authority and boldness. Come up higher. Leave the world behind and step into what God has for you.

The End of the Age Is Near

We are living at the very edge of the great tribulation. Just as the eras of Adam and Moses each lasted around 2,000 years, our current era has also reached maturity. But before the end comes, the greatest revival the world has ever seen will sweep the earth. The glory of God is flooding the earth.

That glory is a blessing to the righteous, but judgment to the wicked. The glory and unrighteousness cannot coexist. The only way to become righteous is to be in Christ. It’s a full identity swap. A complete death to who you were so that you can rise in new life.

Jesus Prayed for You to Be in Him

In John 17:20-23, Jesus prayed for all believers, asking the Father to unify us just as He and the Father are one.

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” (John 17:20–23 NLT)

That’s what it means to be in Christ—to be in such unity with Him that when people look at you, they can’t tell where Jesus ends and you begin. That unity isn’t just possible—it’s what Jesus prayed for.

Righteousness Means You Don’t Have to Sin Anymore

In Christ, you are completely righteous. That’s not heresy, that’s truth. He set you free from the power of sin. I chose to believe that, and now I walk in it. Do I live a sinless life? Pretty close. Not because of me, but because I chose to be in Christ.

And even when I fall, I repent and move on. I don’t wallow in shame. I don’t entertain condemnation. I keep moving forward because I know who I am in Christ.

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13 NLT)

Don’t Take Crap from the Devil

When you show up, Christ shows up. And He’s been given all authority. So from now until the rapture—however and whenever that unfolds—those who are in Christ will experience overwhelming goodness from God. Prepare yourself for that goodness.

The world may be fussing, but we’re living in joy, peace, and abundance. That contrast is what gives people one more chance to ask, “Where does that come from?” And when they do, you can point them to the only answer: Christ.

Choose to Be In Christ

This message is not a call to “try harder” or “clean yourself up.” It’s a call to die to self and be fully immersed in Christ. Put yourself all in. Baptize yourself in His name, His power, His authority.

Because righteousness is found only in Christ.
