May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace. (1 Tim 1:2 NLT)

This recurring statement in the New Testament lets us know that God wants to pour out these three gifts frequently.

These are not normal terms in our culture. It’s easy to glaze over them without knowing the depth of their meaning.

Grace = God’s divine influence on your heart.

Grace is not God going light on sin. God destroyed sin’s power over your life so you can live in freedom!

Grace is what you experience every time God makes His presence known in your life.

We’re talking about when you have an “aha” moment at church, or when the Word of God comes alive to you, or when God completely changes something you’ve believed your whole life.

Mercy = Compassionate help in time of need.

Let’s face it: we need God. Even the most bold people have times of weakness.

I’ve become 100X more bold over the last three years, but there are still times when I lose my grip and want to hide.

Do you know what I’ve found in these moments? God’s compassionate help in time of need. He doesn’t put me down or get on to me for needing help.

It brings God great joy to give us the help we need.

Peace = Prosperity, safety, and rest.

Whoa! The peace of God is so much more than a tranquil state of mind. Wrapped up in that one word is prosperity, safety, and rest. This is God’s desire for your life!

Let the Lord be magnified, who delights and takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. (Psalm 35:27 AMP)

It brings the Lord JOY when YOU prosper!

Somehow, we’ve come up with the idea that God hates money. He doesn’t hate it or love it. He just doesn’t want you to make an idol out of it.

That goes for everything! Don’t put anything before the Lord your God. Make sure He always comes first.

Here’s something you can say every day to dismantle the lies of the enemy:

God wants me to prosper. His protection is always available to me. He wants me to live from a place of rest.

When you put God first, prosperity, safety, and rest are the result. When you put anything else first, you’ll get whatever that thing has to offer (which will always let you down).

May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace!
