Why the Church needs you right now

No Job Too Small in God’s Kingdom

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (NLT),

"The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit."

Let me put it in football terms—because, let’s be real, I love football. A team can have 656 staff members, but one mistake from the long snapper, the holder, or the kicker, and the whole team loses.

You might think you’re just holding the ball or cleaning the bathrooms, but without you, the team suffers.

Recognizing Your Place in the Body

Romans 12:4-6 (NLT) reminds us,

"Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well."

That means your gift matters. Whether it’s prophesying, serving, teaching, giving, leading, or simply showing mercy with a smile, your role is needed.

And let me say this—no job is beneath you. I know Mason has been faithfully placing signs around town for years. It might seem like a small task, but it’s brought people through these doors to encounter Jesus.

Why Serving Together Matters

Ephesians 4:11-12 (NLT) says,

"Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ."

When we all work together, we stay grounded in truth. We protect each other from false teaching. We grow together in love. When one of us struggles, we carry the load for each other. Just like crutches carry the weight when your ankle’s hurt.

Every Role Strengthens the Whole

In Acts 6:2-3 (NLT), the disciples said,

"So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. "

What was the job? Waiting tables. But they didn’t pick just anybody—they chose men full of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because every role matters.

Do Everything Like It’s for Jesus

Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT) puts it like this,

"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ."

Even if your job feels small or unimportant, do it like you’re doing it for Jesus—because you are.

Start Where You Are and Trust God to Promote You

David didn’t start by killing Goliath. First, he protected sheep, killed a lion, and killed a bear. God used every small step to prepare him for what was next.

You might feel like your current role isn’t big enough to match your calling. But stay faithful. Do it well. And trust God to promote you in His timing.

Get Involved Today

If you’re not already serving, what’s stopping you? Don’t wait to be asked. Don’t think your role is too small. Don’t just warm a seat.

You are needed. You are essential. And when you step into your role, the whole body of Christ becomes stronger.
