You are creating with your words, and you can change your life by aligning what you say with what God says. The chairs in this room are here because of words. This building, the air conditioning, the house you live in, all of it started with words.
Don't get confused into thinking everything is created some other way. If you've got a problem in your life, begin to speak what God says over it, and when you speak it, have faith in what you just said.
When I order something on Amazon, I know the package is coming. I don't spend the day wondering if the warehouse got my order. If only we had as much faith in God as we do in Amazon, we'd declare the word over something and not give it another thought.
Jesus said you can speak to a mountain and it will move, but only if you believe it and don't let doubt take root in your heart, not your head. This is what Jesus told His disciples after He cursed the fig tree and it died. Here's the passage I read:
"Have faith in God. I tell you the truth. You can say to this mountain, 'May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart." (Mark 11:23-24, NLT)
It doesn't say don't have doubt in your head. It says don't have doubt in your heart. A thought only becomes something in your heart when you agree with it, and a thought you disagree with is gone.
If you speak faith over something and then a thought of doubt shows up and you receive it, that's when it's over. But you can just start again. God is merciful, and He lets you try again.
You don't answer a thought with another thought. You answer it by speaking God's word over it out loud. Whatever thought of doubt comes, you cast it out and speak the outcome you're believing for instead.
Give God more chances than you'd give a doctor, because most of us take medicine every day without question but only go up for prayer once before giving up. When we're fighting a sickness, and we should fight sickness, it doesn't belong to us. If prayer doesn't work the first time, a lot of us never go up for prayer again, even while we're still carrying the same sickness the next week.
Think about the woman with the issue of blood. She fought the crowd and kept pressing in. She wasn't giving up until she got it.
When it comes to a natural solution, we don't mind taking medicine every day or going to however many doctor's appointments it takes. But when it comes to receiving from God, we give Him one chance and stop.
My health journey was years long, and the biggest breakthrough came when I realized sickness isn't something God gave me, it's oppression from the devil that I have authority over. I went through Andrew Wommack's Healing University because I needed my mind renewed. I worked through the same doubts everyone deals with, like whether Paul's thorn in the flesh meant God was trying to strengthen me through sickness.
I had to get to the place where I realized God didn't give this to me. Sickness is oppression of the devil, and Jesus went about healing all who were oppressed by the devil. As I got that revelation, I began to experience healing.
The first thing I was healed of was a spirit of infirmity I didn't even know I had. It was cast out of me in 2022. My high blood pressure went away, my anxiety went away, and I was out in my yard the next day feeling free and light.
There were still things that remained after that, mainly a nasal polyp in my right nostril that clogged the whole thing. I stood in faith for it for months. The healing came nine or ten months later when the Holy Spirit told me, in my bathroom, to stop using a certain hair gel.
I argued with Him for a minute, honestly. I stopped using it anyway, and within three weeks the nasal polyp was gone.
You remind yourself that just because you were healed once doesn't mean the devil won't try to tempt you with the same symptom again, and you deny it every time. Earlier this week, my right nostril started stopping up for the first time in about two years. My first thought was that it was coming back.
I didn't last more than a few minutes before I spoke to it directly and commanded it to open in the name of Jesus. Two minutes later, my nose popped open, and it was over.
That wasn't the polyp coming back. The devil was just checking if I'd give an invitation for it to return. The next time a symptom like that hits you, the answer is denied. You have authority over all the power of the devil, and you don't have to fear whatever it is.
Renew your mind and say God has given you authority over all the power of the devil. Wherever the devil is tormenting you, you don't permit it anymore. It's that simple.
No. Hebrews 11 shows some people of faith overthrew kingdoms and lived, while others were martyred, and both are legitimate outcomes of a life of faith depending on your assignment. People get tripped up reading about the martyrs in Hebrews 11 and think that if those people had just lived by faith, they wouldn't have died. That's not right. Some people live by faith, and some people die by faith for the Lord.
If your purpose is to be a martyr, you know it ahead of time, and you're at peace with your assignment, because you understand this life is but a puff of smoke. I used to be scared I'd be martyred, and I'd read passages like this and think, "Don't saw me in half, please."
The Lord taught me that if that was my destiny, I would know it and be at peace with it. For those of us called to the first part of Hebrews 11:33, overthrowing kingdoms, ruling with justice, shutting the mouths of lions, we're the ones meant to stay alive and do the work of God, and we should have peace with that.
The modern example I pointed to was Charlie Kirk. Amazing things happened after his death: people returning to faith, people hearing about Jesus for the first time, and government leaders proclaiming the word of God at his funeral.
It's worth noting that in the second half of Hebrews 11, none of those listed died because they were sick. Nobody in that chapter is admired for holding onto sickness. The call is to get rid of sickness, not accept it as some kind of spiritual badge.
What does Hebrews 11:32-40 say about people of faith? It describes people like Gideon, Barak, Samson, and David who by faith overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, shut the mouths of lions, and escaped death, alongside others who were tortured, imprisoned, and killed for refusing to turn from God. I read this straight from the NLT and pointed out that both outcomes, living and dying, are described as faith in the same chapter.
What does the word "ecclesia" mean in the Bible? I teach that ecclesia, the Greek word translated "church," means a governing body, people who recognize they carry the authority Christ gave them. I believe the church is meant to be more governing than secular government, particularly in the spiritual realm.
What's the difference between conviction from the Holy Spirit and condemnation from the devil? I teach that correction from the Holy Spirit hurts but comes packaged with empowerment and a knowing that you can change. Condemnation from the devil just pushes you down and makes you afraid to approach God with boldness.
Do you have to be perfect before you can approach God? No. I make the point that God didn't say to wait until you're perfect to come to Him. Instead, He said to come boldly when you need help, because that's where help is found.
